Review on 🐾 Phthalate and BPA Free XL Foam Litter Mat - Water Resistant, Scatter Control, Easy Clean - Gray, Model 9051 by Shannon Hanson

Best toilet mat I've ever tried! Much better than expensive pop-ups!

The short story is that this mat traps dirt in the channels, is comfortable for people and pets to walk on, and while it's thin it REALLY keeps your feet from stepping on dirt as long as you shake it off once a week. This is the best I've tried to keep spread to a minimum and allow people to step on it without picking up dirt with their bare feet. The long story is this. I have 3 cats and 2 litter boxes. In both boxes I use the best cat litter in the world. I went through a few toilet mats trying to find one that would reduce the spread of dirt. I even bought one of the fancy boxes that are supposed to open and pull out the litter but it was a nightmare trying to get all those holes of dust out of the litter or if the cat ever missed the box. It was also uncomfortable to walk on, and the "easy opening" never opened all the way, resulting in having to reach into my pocket to open it. Pooh! THIS rug is fantastic. Cats don't mind walking on it, so the litter will fly off their paws if they walk on it instead of trying to jump over it. I was surprised how well the mat catches dirt in the grooves. So when I step barefoot on the mat, it stops my feet from picking up all the dirt that's scattered. Comfort and walkability were SUPER important as the tray is in front of our shower. I won't lie, the trash still flies around a bit, but I'm sweeping every 2 days now instead of 2 or 2 days. 3 times a day what I have done with other carpets. Because of the grooves that hold the dirt, you NEED to shake it really well to get all the dirt off. I shake it once a week to keep debris from getting into the grooves. Haven't had to wash it yet but looks like it would be very easy to wash off in the shower or with a garden hose.
