Love these and have bought them several times over the years as they wear out. Unfortunately, although they are waterproof and easy to remove dirt, cats do have claws. And my cats seem to think it's necessary to scratch both the outside of the litter box and the inside. Inevitably, it will be torn beyond recognition and replaced through no fault of your own.

These are the only toilet mats I buy now. I have several rescue cats and one of them has IBD. He tries his best to do everything in the litter box but sometimes it ends up in the litter box. These magazines make cleaning and disinfecting a breeze. Other trash mats get things stuck in the artificial grass texture but so easy to clean. I have bought them more than 3 times, for all the bins in my house.

I had one before and it lasted 4 years, started breaking so I bought this knowing I had to replace it just for cat claws. This mat washes well, catches spills great, I use non-clumping litter and I have a mat right next to a kitten coming out of a hooded litter box and it's a great litter filler, will always use and the color choice is also great . Kitty doesn't mind either.

I use wood putty knife (Okocat) so my experience may be different from other putty users. My filler stuck to the mat and then the top filler followed suit. Rubbish on the carpet isn't even vacuumed to the end. Washing was also a hassle (litter didn't want to come off). It was a disaster. It protects your floors well from moisture and has a decent thickness.

I've had these rugs for a long time and I really like that they don't allow dirt to spread. However, as of tonight, I've never dealt with cat urine outside of the litter box and I'm not impressed with how the mats handled it. The short story is that this mat traps dirt in the channels, is comfortable for people and pets to walk on, and while it's thin it REALLY keeps your feet from stepping on dirt as long as you shake it off once a week.
