I think the mixed reviews about it are due to people trying to use it for things it just wasn't designed for. It's the perfect tool for certain situations: we use it to sweep up dry seed pods, leaves and other small debris on our concrete pool deck. It's AWESOME for that purpose. We sweep the rubbish out of every corner, drive across the site twice in a row and that in 10 minutes. It even loosens and collects large amounts of dirt. As others have said, you can't roll it back to sweep or pick up a sweeper and expect it to pick up things when you put them back down. That's how most manual sweepers work, so it's not a huge surprise and doesn't really affect function, you just need to be aware of it.
