I used a Camco RV magnesium anode stick on my 10 gallon Atwood water heater. It was easy to install. I removed the drain plug and replaced it with an anode rod. When I took it off to drain the tank for winter storage this fall, it looked like Swiss cheese. Obviously he did his job. It is better for the electrolysis to work on the stick than on the heating element or tank. Cheap insurance.
