I bought this packaging to freeze red wine for future recipes. I have an ice machine so I didn't need it. For my purposes this worked fine. I liked that it had a lid for freezing so the wine was less likely to spill or get on something else when I put it in the freezer. The silicone backing made it easy to pop out my cubes when they were done without twisting like other base models. I sometimes have joint pains in my hands, so this feature was a big plus.
