Review on Yokohama Advan Sport V105 225/55 R17 105Y summer by Danuta Retmaska ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The product is usable, I expected a bit more.

205/55/16, front wheel drive. This rubber was highly praised by friends, then the seller in the store. The few reviews on the Internet were only positive. Took in the spring of 2022 Bottom line: disappointment. This tire did not live up to my expectations. 1. Noisy. I go to the "German", the noise and then penetrate into the cabin. In wet weather, the noise increases. On the street it was somehow +5 and it was raining, I drove off, the rubber just started to hum, when I picked up speed, the howls started straight. Very tense. In dry weather and on good coverage, there is almost no noise. Bottom line: comfortable ride with dry, warm weather. 2. The effect of aquaplaning is pronounced. It doesn’t seem to be annoying to drive in wet weather, it keeps the road normally (it’s normal to move around the city, the speeds are low). But it is worth driving into a puddle at a speed (more than 80 km / h) - the fear of God. The car just takes away from the trajectory. Moreover, rather shallow puddles of 3-5 cm. The car must be caught. 3. Doesn't like ruts. The car is thrown out of it, you have to taxi. 4. Rut + rain: the car becomes uncontrollable, it is scary to drive, the grip is extremely low. What we liked: 1. It is comfortable to ride in warm and dry weather, there is little noise from rubber, good grip. 2. Good rolling, no braking effect, fuel consumption does not seem to have increased. 3. The price is acceptable. 4. Holds blows well. I will ride on rubber once I bought it, but I will not buy it in the future.

Pros
  • Price. Good rolling. Good handling in dry and warm weather.
Cons
  • Rigidity, noise, hydroplaning
