This is absolutely the BEST pencil sharpener out of the 7 I already own - now I'm sacrificing/throwing out 4 of them. This sharpener works great with my Prismacolor soft leads, even the ones I've had problems with breaking (works better than Prismacolor's own sharpener). I also use it on my Derwent Inktense pencils and Faber Castell Polychromos pencils with excellent results. 2 extra blades included with each sharpener make this sharpener a fantastic deal. Tip: Use the correct method for sharpening crayons—hold the pencil in one hand and twist the sharpener with the other hand. Don't twist the pencil! If you've never tried it, you might be surprised at the difference it makes. I also have a Carl Angel 5 sharpener and it works really well with all my pencils. It's great for quickly sharpening new unsharpened pencils (including Prismacolor soft-tipped pencils). But she eats a lot more pencils than this Kum sharpener. So now I move on to this little sharpener.
