Pilot holes do not line up! Be VERY CAREFUL when twisting the parts or they will break. This isn't my first bamboo shelf rodeo, I've tried to be as accurate as possible. I had to constantly change the position of the screw and the wood to get it together without breaking anything else. I ended up screwing in the guides before assembling the rest to widen the holes a bit, that seemed to help. Luckily I only have one crack on the top shelf so I'll keep using that and try to fill the crack with glue or something. Together it's pretty durable and the cutting board and knife holders are a big plus. Looks good and fits well in my small kitchen.
