Review on ACDelco G12 Series 12V Cordless 3-inch Mini Polisher Tool Set including 2 Li-ion Batteries, Charger, and Accessory Kit, ARS1212 by Relap Villa

Giving only 2 stars makes these USED tools great tools before they have been revised. I've had it for over 5 years and it still works great. I gave it to one of my new techs, so I decided to buy a new one. When it came out I quickly realized that they had changed the design and immediately noticed that the new batteries and charger seem to be a lot lighter than the old ones. Not necessarily bad, but they seemed "cheaper" than the old style. It worked as expected for about a week or two, then one day I went to charge the battery. As soon as the battery was placed in the charger, a "POP" sound was heard and then a small amount of smoke came out of the charger. I immediately disconnected the charger and contacted AC Delco through Revain. After a few weeks I still hadn't heard anything, so I decided to just order a new $30 charger. The charger says it's charging the batteries but then I go to buffer them and the battery glows red and I get about 5 seconds of use before both batteries go dead again. I am very disappointed with the new tool and even more disappointed with the lack of communication with AC Delco or even Revain. Now I get the Milwaukee version of this tool. In hindsight, I wish I had spent the extra $50 from the start, but like I said, I really loved this tool (before they changed it).
