I just tried it on my car. I have a Nissan Leaf that I rent. For a loan I wanted something that could be easily removed and wouldn't leave marks etc. The vent in my car is the same as in the picture - horizontal louvers before vertical ones. The back of the mount is hard rubber that seems to last a while. The rubber is cut to allow one of the horizontal blades to slide - this gap is slightly wider. And there's a place for one of the vertical blades to slide - that slot is a bit narrower. The rubber went in perfectly and easily and it looks like it will hold up. However, the "problem" is that the position of the vent cannot be changed because once attached it will capture both sets of wings (it is now in a fixed position). Hopefully it shows where the air should go. It can no longer direct air at me for my car, but that's fine - I usually use the center vents for the rear passengers anyway. The round lever is spring loaded and extends/retracts to accommodate different sized devices. I have an iPhone 5S with a thin case. It fits well and feels like it should hold up well. And it's pretty easy to put on and take off with one hand (just pull your hand out along with the phone). Hard to beat for the price - simple and effective. Despite the shortcomings, I still give it 5 out of 5 because there's nothing you can do about it.
