Did a test to see if the seat stays dry by spraying water directly on it. Lifted the lid and the seat was still completely dry. So I can say that the product I received is waterproof. I can't say how well it will hold up in the wind as I haven't used it in windy conditions yet and I'm not sure if the wind will affect its ability to hold the seat. dry out when it rains. My main purpose for the cover is to keep the seat dry in the rain so I'll be sure to get a chance to try that. fall apart and have to use a second one, then I'm sure I've gotten my money's worth. As far as I know it does its job of being waterproof.
