It would be quite difficult to screw up an extension but these days you never know. I needed an extension to remove the top bolts from the rear shocks on my truck and didn't want to spend a lot because I've lived without an extension. I couldn't think of a better strength test. this thing. I had to use a 3 foot jackhammer and at one point I was laying on my side and using my leg to even turn the wrench. If this thing broke I could imagine what I went through with it. I'm happy with that.
