As I've gotten older my scalp and hair has gotten drier and I've tried many different products to give back sheen and body to my hair. This shampoo took me a while to get use to as it doesn't give you a big bubbly lather, more a small bubble foam and it doesn't strip the natural oils from your hair. I have fine, straight hair that was getting thin, but my scalp feels so much better and moisturized my hair has started coming back in and the individual shafts seem to be thicker. I used to think my hair should be squeaky clean (didn't there used to be a shampoo commercial that told us this?), now I realize my hair needs to retain some of it's natural oil to look and feel healthy and be more manageable. Occasionally I'll need to shampoo twice if I feel there is too much buildup in my hair, but the longer I've used this shampoo the less frequently I've needed to do this. And having fine hair, I'm the first one to complain about limp strands, not a problem even though this is a heavier product then I'm used to. An added benefit for my fine, short cut hair is I rarely need to use conditioner now, I just use a wide tooth comb to comb the lather through my hair before rinsing and it gets rid of my tangles. The fact that this is a gluten free product may make no difference to many of you, but I can't eat gluten and I never connected the wheat germ oil in my hair products to the few small itchy patches of flaky skin I had on my scalp, they have now have completely disappeared. After years of trying new shampoos, one after another, I think I have found "my" shampoo.
