I wish I knew why

This item was a gift so I don't know how it works. But what confuses me is that the buyer has to choose between Bluetooth technology and a rechargeable battery. You can have one function, you can have another, but you cannot have both. I used Bluetooth technology, but in hindsight I wish I had given a model with a rechargeable battery. Why aren't both options available for the same CD player?
