I've had this item before and it worked great. I haven't used this particular item yet, but there seems to be a user error issue causing bad reviews. Let me tell you straight away that this is NOT an exercise. These are hole saws! Using a saw is different than using a drill. When cutting something, you should let the saw do the work rather than forcing the tool into the material. For these hole saws, slightly rotate the beginning of the hole with the saw as if rolling a ball in a circle across the floor, another example: the rotation should be like creating a grapefruit-sized ball of dough. Forcing these saw blades into the material gives you most of the same results that most of the bad reviews say. So first rotate slightly to allow the saw teeth to remove the material, and then gently move the saw blades back and forth until you slowly begin to cut through the material. Remember using a handsaw to cut a straight line through a 2x4? Here's what's up with these hole saws in terms of speed. Be slow and steady and smart. Avoid shackles, avoid haste, avoid violence! Hope that helps.
