I've waited a bit with the review to really try it. I liked it at first and would have given it 5 stars, but since I've used it more I'm deducting a few stars because it's a bit fiddly to use. I thought a longer handle and angle would be more useful, and at first it was, but then I noticed that due to the curvature of the handle, it doesn't really hit the corners of the litter box at the back. It's just a little fiddly to manipulate, climbing into the back corners and scraping down. Now that I've made sure it gets there I have no problem leaving anything behind, but it's still a bit difficult to get there. I have a tray with a lid, that could be part of the problem. I'm switching between using this and my regular, and using the regular/original more often now. But this one is heavy duty and much better made than the cheap $3 shovel I have. I think a box without a lid would be much better. It's good to have the length of this shovel when you have back pain. My box has a nice hole in the top, but I still think that's part of the problem and I'd recommend this hoodless cat litter scoop.
