This is the second of two affordable mechanical pocket watches that I have purchased. They are also without a doubt the best. in. The lid fits securely, opens and closes securely. The loop is tight and secure. Crown and pushers have minimal play. A viewing window on the back of the mineral glass allows you to look inside the watch. a few decorative elements and a legible time display. The glass is made of acrylic plastic and is relatively easy to scratch. It is securely fixed in its frame. It comes with a protective sticker. I haven't removed it from my watch yet. The general timing characteristics of this watch are good. They gain about a minute during the week if planted every 24 hours. The mainspring has a power reserve of 36 hours, as can be seen through the dial on the back. decorative second/minute ring. The movement has a fully jeweled moving train leading to a jeweled escapement and balance wheel. The second hand is driven directly by the moving train. The minute hand is driven by friction on a moving train. The hour hand is driven indirectly by a series of gears without jewels. The watch is not equipped with a "hacking" function. This means the second hand will keep moving as you set the time. If your watch isn't showing the exact time, see the rhythm and adjustment settings under the back cover. To access this, locate the small cutout on the back and pry open. They are interested in a small rotating balance wheel and in particular in two levers that extend from its support and through which the hairspring is intertwined. Be careful, the spiral is very thin and the parts and gears are lubricated at the factory. . You don't want to smear this stuff around. The absolute best way to set your watch is with a heart rate monitor, but I can't in good conscience recommend you buy a $150 tool to fix such a cheap watch. You can also attribute it to a watchmaker, but again an inexpensive watch. Lever closer to the left - beat setting. It should only be moved when the clock sounds out of sync, i.e. saying "tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tockโ instead of "tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tockโ. Rotate it away from the movement to speed up the clock (if it's behind) and move it back to slow it down (if it's behind). VERY small adjustments make a big difference. If you have an accurate watch with a second hand, this will speed up setting the watch to an acceptable point since you can just move the two second hands. Otherwise, all you have to do is let the watch run all day and see how much time it gains or loses between adjustments.
