Review on πŸ“· Sony SAL70300G Super Telephoto Zoom Lens: 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 SSM ED G-Series - Compact and Powerful by Sean Garrison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Both lenses are good, both are full frame

This is an A-mount lens that I want to use on my a77II. I bought this to replace my old Sony Beer Can 75-300 lens that I bought in 2006. Both lenses are good, both are full frame, but the SA170300G has better glass, faster autofocus and a super fast autofocus motor that doesn't make any noise. For me, this is very important when shooting a video. It's a bright lens, sharp and the Leica glass is top notch. The difference between this lens and the SSMII is that the SSMII has more heavily coated elements. I've been hearing about how good Sony G lenses are for years. What I heard was correct. This lens, along with my Sony A 16-50 F2.8 lens, should give me two great tools to create great images.

Pros
  • Lenses for cameras
Cons
  • I have some doubts
