A glass jug that can be filled with boiling water! For several years I was looking for a replacement for a similar jug that I accidentally dropped on the floor and broke. This is a good size for making hot tea for the whole family in the morning and I can serve it straight from the pot. I also use it to brew hot tea which eventually turns into iced tea. I let the tea cool down to room temperature and then put it in the fridge. The bodice is fitted but not tight enough to remove. The handle, which looks too flimsy, is PERFECT for your hand and will hold the weight of a pitcher full of liquid. I've been using it EVERY DAY since it arrived and I might as well buy another one as a backup! I don't think this glass can be recycled along with regular glass as it has been processed to be heat resistant. As with Corningware and Pyrex, you need to find a major recycler that will accept these types of glass. If it ever cracked I'd tape it up and use it to grow herbs on the patio or something. I am simply delighted with this product. UPDATE: January 7, 2020 - 2 1/2 years later this thing is picking up steam! We make a pot of HOT tea in it every morning. What we don't drink, we leave in a jug and put in the fridge. Then we drink from it all day long. Hand wash for convenience. A pen that looks fragile is still perfect.
