I needed an extension cable for my Audio Technica turntable and wanted something with good shielded cables and after reading the reviews I thought it came highly recommended. I liked the fact that you can buy an odd number, although I need two for this project. The cable is plastic and the ends are not gold plated. However, the player also does not use gold-plated ends. I snapped them together and found that both ends offer a tight connection - not that difficult to put on or take off, but a very secure feeling. The real challenge would be playing the record. What I did. I didn't notice any background noise or interference. The clarity of the table remained the same, which bothered me a bit. If you need a slightly longer cable, I highly recommend it. They appear to be well made and work what you want, don't they?
