I use these magnets for many things. I bought a cheap towel rack and modified it to attach to my fridge with these magnets. I use these magnets to attach steel extensions to my steel tables. Just don't let them fall on top of each other and keep them away from hard drives. For some applications it makes sense to have opposite polarity magnets so they can attract each other. The countersunk hole in the center of the magnets is great for screwing into things, but makes polarity relevant. When you order these magnets they will all be screwed either north or south. It would be nice to have 5 north and 5 south so they can be paired. I've bought enough of these over the years that I have several of both polarities. However, it would be nice to be able to decide which view I get. The product page says "Also available with countertop north pole" but I couldn't find any further information. There is a question "Can you buy 10 packs of opposite polarity?", to which the seller did not answer. All of these products seem to suffer from the same oversight. I wish I had done more research on this before starting my project that uses paired magnets. For example, it would be better to use a higher holding force pot magnet against a piece of steel rather than trying to look for opposite polarity pairs.
