It was too tight. Go around the high ceiling lightbulb to remove it = break it. Attempting to insert a new pear caused the pear to slide lower and lower and jam the threaded head. I used the napkins in the basket to shorten the length to put this bulb in, but I couldn't screw it in tight, just enough to turn it on but not quite. Ingesting spiral tubers (the reason I bought these) is dangerous. The basket is so tight that it breaks the turns. Try something different. Note: I bought a long stand and the pole worked great, reaching to the height we wanted. Changer must be renewed.
