Although I have a carpenter's machine that I use often, sometimes dowels work better. Because they are 1/2" in diameter, they are suitable for wood that is 6/4" thick or thicker. Use a dowel tool to ensure the holes are straight and precise. Dowels are a lot less forgiving than cookies. are strong and work well with Yellow Glue or Gorilla Glue. When using Gorilla Glue, be sure to dampen the wood first as PUR glues need moisture to cure and will expand, so be prepared to wipe off any excess.
