I required a USB microphone in addition to being able to record rehearsals and pick up sound from the hall during stand-ups, so I brought it with me. It handles all of the functions like a champ, and it has a ton of built-in helpers that can assist even someone who is not well-versed in sound in creating a song that is sane right out of the box. If it also included an XLR input, there would be no cost associated with purchasing it, but this feature is already available for other versions. Got pros: A wide variety of recording choices Flexible setup Built-in utilities Capability to use both as a microphone and an audio interface when connected to a computer. These are some downsides: At one point, the recorder was unable to recognize the flash drive, and as a result, four hours of recording were lost. There is a presumption that the flash drive is something that should be ashamed of.
