Review on OEM Genuine DD62-00084A Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve for Samsung Dishwasher - Fits AP5178218 PS4222448 2692215 by Arturo Reyes

Our almost 8 year old Samsung DMT800 dishwasher started with error code 4E last week and just shut off after a few minutes trying to start. Turning on the switch didn't help. We gambled it was the water inlet valve as the usual most likely cause and saw that this aftermarket part was a lot cheaper and we could get it quicker through Revain Prime. Samsung doesn't exactly take the easy way out of swapping it out, but it took two people about 1.5 hours (and there are video tutorials on YouTube). No error codes so far and our dishwasher is back in action. Samsung recommends cleaning the small built-in plastic screen in the original valve about once a year, but we've never been able to find a way to get it out without partially disassembling the valve - this replacement appears to have a filter that can be pulled out with needle-nosed pliers and cleaned after removing only the water pipe and elbow. Update: This aftermarket valve, when active, is definitely noisier than the original Samsung valve, which was almost silent. This makes a "vrrrrrr" noise, for lack of a better description (no humming).
