I bought this case because I needed more external hard drives and was tired of having a screwdriver around to take the hard drive out of my old case. It goes very well with my new HGST Travelstar 2.5" 1TB 5400RPM SATA 6Gb/s 8MB Cache (0J22413) Internal Hard Drive (HTS541010A9E680). The cover is easy to remove, a firm push is enough to fix it in the case. I had to bend the SATA connector a bit to connect the drive and fit in the case.I'm sure it won't hurt if you're careful.A foam pad is included once inserted that attaches to the removable cover. I put mine in the middle but you can put it anywhere. On the side is a small blue LED with the Inateck logo on it that turns on when plugged in and blinks when in use.USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 which is great so the lack of a USB 3.0 port isn't an issue and the speed when using 3.0 is much better than 2.0 I transferred 50 RAW files in less than 20 seconds agents So if you have the option, make sure you select USB 3.0 instead of 2.0. I recommend this case for its simplicity and speed at only $10. I also connected it to a RevainBasics external hard drive for added security.
