You get what you pay for

This is a great product for moving water in an aquarium. I use this 750GPH to move water in my 40G reef tank in combination with a Vortech MP10. The magnet that attaches the pump to the glass of the aquarium is very strong, so you don't have to worry about the pump moving. A few problems: - The pump moves the water in a direction that is too straight. Imagine a tunnel of water that moves where you direct it. To counteract this, I've tried positioning the pump so that the water will bounce off the corners of the aquarium, thus breaking through the water tunnel, but haven't had much success. I have found that no matter how I positioned the pump, some corals still hit too hard without stopping. The pump is attached to the magnet via a ball joint. The ball joint has a short tube that goes into the end of the pump. I had several problems with the pump falling off the ball joint due to the tube coming out of the pump head. Not good. (You can see the red spot on the picture) -Cheap plastic. This is my second Evolution 750 as the plastic protector on the post broke after just a few months. Be careful and use great care when cleaning the pump. Soak the pump head in vinegar first before attempting to open the case to clean the impeller. Be sure to clean the pump once a month!
