I've used the Evenflo lock with position and door locking many times over the years, mostly with success, but I've always had a hard time finding the right notch to hook it in, to be able to clamp the gate in the doorway. My current Evenflo gate just cracked and broke trying to quickly install it in the door in a hurry. This Carlson gate has a stem with a series of holes at the top of the stem that allow you to select the closest hole that fits the width of the door and insert the pin into the hole and then simply tighten the locking screw. Simple, fast and does not break the wooden stick. The materials it's made of are very strong, there are two rubber grips on the sides that hold it in place and it works great. Not only are the building materials excellent, you can buy 3 of them for the price of one Evenflo gate.
