Review on πŸŽ’ ChicoBag Travel Compact Eco-friendly Backpacks by Paul Wall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent bag. Not perfect, but close.

Bought this bag for a trip to Europe recently. It served as an intermediate pocket for my larger Timbuk2 hand luggage. I've used it at the airport, in shops, at the beach, by the pool and in my laundry bag on my return flight. It's light, versatile, very compact and very comfortable (unlike the Sea to Summit bags I've also tried). I just wish it had built in waterproofing. The pouch does not resist water at all, especially when placed in a puddle etc. It actually absorbs water when placed in a wet area. It was my fault as I was at my hotel pool and didn't realize I had put my bag in a plate sized puddle next to my chair. I found my towel, beach shirt, and Kindle case to get wet (luckily there was no kindling in it). The bag allows the fabrics inside to absorb all moisture into the bag. If I mean wet, I had to wring everything out. In fact, I was shocked because I thought the bottom was made of a more durable material. It is abrasion resistant but not waterproof at all. Sea to Summit bags are completely waterproof but have very thin shoulder straps that cut into the shoulders making them unsuitable for carrying. I would have liked Sea to Summit bags better if they had an outside pocket, better shoulder straps and a water bottle pocket. The Chico bag is almost perfect for me, apart from its ability to resist water. Just a warning, not really a complaint as it wasn't listed as waterproof. So, to be fair, 5 stars. Enjoy!
