Review on VTech CS6719 Cordless Caller Waiting by Alex Tinker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The sound is ok, clipped

Seems like VTech tried to invest in the wrong place. As a result, a phone that could have been very good has become marginal compared to similarly priced phones. When VTech works like this, do double check to get what you expect from their products. Let me give you some examples. That worries me a lot. Their product description states that they will notify you when you receive a voicemail. Comparable products from AT&T and Panasonic did this for my purchase (please check today) based on both the message on the phone and the LED. They have no LED, so a real visual indication without lifting the handset. So it's a step backwards from what your grandparents had on their answering machines. Sounds a little; Think about what that means in terms of missed messages. You can program a message number on the phone, but it will not sync with other satellite phones. This has also happened to my AT&T phones. There are other examples too. It seems they've done it wherever they could save a dime for a feature you "don't miss out on". Trouble is, I miss them all. I also miss that slightly better dialer, the simpler way I could. This isn't a bad phone. The sound quality is okay. People can understand me. The battery life is good enough for my use of the phone. I only have range issues in two rooms, which is pretty decent for this type of phone.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Mostly ok but...
