I did the same as you, bought and regretted. (Bacterial contamination?!)

The review attached below describes almost verbatim what happened to me. The only exception is that I had no problems with the delivery - it came quickly. We've been using the product for a little over a week and yes, the filter already seems to be exhausted. Not only that, it smells and tastes really, really awful! All I can conclude is that it looks like some of these filters have been contaminated in some way and after a few uses the water will lead to bacterial growth which is gross and potentially dangerous. I started getting problems with my throat and sinuses and then noticed changes in my water - so I can't be sure but they could be related. kajuroe2.0 out of 5 stars Filter lasted 1 week July 5, 2018 purchase. I had a hard time figuring out how to rate this. First, it took almost a month for the item marked as "in stock" to ship. To be fair, it still arrived on the date stated when I bought it. This is where it gets difficult. Included was a water tester which is cool. I had no idea the water was as bad as where I live. The filter reduced the levels to 0 on the tester. This part is kind of amazing. What is not surprising is that the filter is ready after just a week of use. I barely filled the block twice before the filter was removed. Now the water on the sample is the same as from the tap, and the taste is sour. From a design point of view you will need to order a new faucet as the one included in the kit is complete junk. The faucet opening, while attractive, is about an inch higher than it should be, meaning you're leaving about 1/5 of the water in the tank. Why?
