Weekly water changes in small aquariums are not a big deal. A bucket or two and that's usually all. Large tanks are a whole different matter. I have 125 gallons and I quickly realized how difficult water changes are. Even 20% is about 25 gallons, which for a 2 gallon bucket is more than 10 trips just to drain and then 10 more trips to refill. It took almost an hour, plus a mess. It literally makes changing the water easy, if you have a sink nearby you can connect a hose to the faucet. We have an old sink in the basement where my tub is. It drains by 20% in about 10 minutes and poured in the same place. Best of all, not a single drop of water is spilled and you can go through the entire process without frustrating or stressing the fish. Fish find the hose far less stressful than tipping a bucket. Without them there will not be a large aquarium.
