Review on πŸ§„ Leifheit Comfortline Gourmet Garlic Slicer for Fine Vegetable Cutting and Slicing, White/Red by Kahyin Hawkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal if you want thin slices of garlic.

It doesn't cut easily, but it's much more convenient to use than slicing garlic with a knife. It's designed to do one thing, and it does it pretty well. When using minced garlic, I prefer very thin slices, which means time to cut properly and space to cut. I have very little counter and chopping board space so this space saver is a welcome addition. The holes can be a bit small if you have a mutant-sized piece, but cutting with a knife solves this problem. I don't think this device is a good substitute for a sharp knife and good skills, if you have them you can cut faster, but in terms of comfort and even slices it's excellent. It can be tricky to turn and you have to press down while turning, similar to opening a baby medicine bottle. The friction from this action makes it a bit tiresome, and after slicing a few juicy chunks in a dry kitchen, the device may get stuck due to the sticky garlic juice. Despite possible and occasional flaws, the device is comfortable and well designed. It is easy to disassemble and serves its purpose.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Almost everything available
