These should be made with a threaded knob and socket in the screw so when assembling the part at the factory the screw will catch in the plate when the knob is turned to screw in. Alternatively, the handle can be welded to the bolt in the plate. KING-LINK apparently thinks you can just stick a knob into a screw and it magically stays there. This latch fell apart the next morning after I attached it to the door. KING-LINK never imagined these slide latches would last long if they didn't even attach the handle to the latch. Therefore I believe this is a product that is being sold in bad faith and it is fair to call it a scam. The quality of these devices is just incredibly poor, it just can't be that KING-LINK doesn't know they are just falling apart.
