, Ever since I got my first standalone AeroGarden hydroponic setup I've been watching videos and making different hydroponic setups for different plant sizes. I mean the AeroGarden is great for lettuce and smaller herbs but if I want to grow a big tomato, cucumber or eggplant the AeroGarden is way too small. I've made PVC piping systems, but even these have trouble holding a tomato plant, so I watched a video showing how to turn a plastic container into a hydroponic system. With just two holes and this air pump (with bubbling rocks) I set up the system, planted tomato pots and added tomato cages on top of the bag as they grew. This little pump with bubbler stones in the water/nutrient mix kept the water aerated/oxygenated so the plants grew and thrived. I installed this pump on a smart plug so I can use it to create graphics and light over plants - I need to check the water level regularly and that's pretty much the only manual thing I do with it at the moment - I check the PH Value and top up with water and nutrients as needed. The pump keeps running smoothly on its schedule and the plants keep growing, flowering and producing tomatoes!
