Works great with aquarium pumps and filters

I have two of these pumps in a 75g African cichlid aquarium and they work great. My only gripe is with the directions, they don't clearly indicate which direction the adjustment is going. It's supposed to be a five-sided game, but towards the end it's hard to tell if the setup is stronger or not. Does somebody know?
