Review on Premium Stainless Steel Tumbling Media Pins - Enhanced Polishing and Cleaning Effect by Terence Dardant

Not exactly what I was hoping for.

First, there are no complaints about the supplier. As for stainless steel pins, they are expensive and not nearly as effective at cleaning up used brass as some here claim. If all you want to do is rid old screws in your mug of rust, stainless steel pins can be your stairway to heaven. Just don't try to use it in a rubber tumbler (like Tumbler's Tumbler), or they (or other stainless steel pins) will rip your tumblers very quickly, leaving a thin, blackened film of rubber on anything in your glass. . I suspected it might happen, I tried anyway and it definitely happened. Determined to achieve the "amazing results" that others have seen with stainless steel pins, I created a 4 inch PVC wet drum using these pins. I added some blue dawn and water. The results were far worse than just using good old dry medium made from crushed peach pits with a 10 percent dose of "red". Worse, it took twice as long to achieve the matte "finish" that stainless steel pins seem to produce when brass is fired. There is no joy. If you want to wow your range friends and attract crows from two miles away, add a teaspoon of brass polish to your Peach Pit + Rouge medium. Your brass will shine like diamonds in the desert sun. The SS pens have a "plus”: spilled pens can be picked up with a magnet. Or stick them in a shotgun shell and throw them into space, which I won't be doing any time soon. I guess I'll try to find some rusty screws to clean now.
