Review on πŸ“‘ Circular Polarized Tram Base Antenna for CB Radios by Chris Shepherd

Revainrating 2 out of 5

At a loss. Best AV Accessories

Tested with 50' and 100' rg8x. Swr was consistently 1.1. Installed today on a stand on a 4ft support above the roof. SWR checked. The lowest SWR on channel 1 was 2.9, every channel through 40 was 3 or higher. I triple checked everything. I can't figure out what's wrong with the best will in the world. The only thing that comes to mind is the gutter causing interference. But since I'm mounted on a pole at least 3 feet above the roofline I can't figure it out. I'm not thrilled after drilling has messed up my house and work schedules. It's scary to transmit without damaging the radio. I tried my CB truck anyway and it was all static but I could hear about 0.5 miles. I live on a main road where truckers drive. My Firestick on the truck catches the transmission as soon as I turn it on. It didn't receive any signals other than my truck. I am completely confused. Moved the antenna to the middle of the courtyard today. Mounted on a pressure treated wooden pole approximately 16 feet off the ground. Swr 1.2-1.5 in all directions. Tested on my cb truck. Clear signal up to 1.5 miles. 2 km almost inaudible. Not impressed with the range, but that's a $25 antenna. Works better since I moved it.
