Not crystal clear, but great for the price

I don't use an HDMI pass-through or a mic/headphone jack, so I can't comment on that, but the recording quality is pretty decent. I wouldn't recommend it for content creators, streamers or professionals, but for personal use and controversial streams it gets the job done for less than a third of the price of established brands like Elgato or AverMedia. I'd give the quality an 8/10 if 10 is perfect capture quality, but that last 20% should make up the difference in price between a $35 capture card and a $135 card. This device is listed as USB 3 and has a blue USB connector. port, but the manual lists the device as USB 2.0. I have confirmed on my desktop that the capture card is indeed using USB 2 but still captures 1080p 60fps well. I've even plugged my capture card into a USB 3 hub with no problems, although the manual doesn't recommend using a capture device through a USB hub. When you look at other non-branded capture cards under $50, it seems like they all have the same design. and will most likely use USB 2. The picture quality is way better than my $18 HDMI USB 2 capture adapter I got 2 years ago and it's not a problem in the long run, but it's a pretty big marketing lie, a blue USB -Connector to use and include the blue USB cable if your device does not support USB 3.
