I installed 8 of these lights on my front deck and they have lasted 2 full seasons in Colorado. The only issues were the batteries which lasted 6-9 months before needing to be replaced, the replacement of the bolts with longer stainless steel bolts, rust on the internal bolts and the black caps fading in the sun. But otherwise they worked great without having to pick them up in the winter. Remember I live above 6500 feet so the sun is stronger and the air thinner; harder for the paint. I'll probably repaint and see how long they last from the outside. The design of the device prevents moisture from getting into the electronics. You will see when you take off the cover. All the electronics are on top and the reflector is on the bottom. The LED bulb doesn't touch the bottom of the tablet and extends to about the bottom of the lens if you're worried about a short circuit. Depending on the performance of the battery used, the brightness and duration of the LED lighting is determined. I switched to 1000mah NiCad.
