Made from poorly performing material

As many others have pointed out, these things break VERY easily. After my mind broke, I attempted to bend one of the whole halves. It's about an inch thick to rubber, which should be indestructible. I stressed it lightly just enough to form a crack and then it spread as if the material was brittle. I'd rather make my own than buy a new one.
