I specialize in Chevy LS engines. The bosses on aftermarket connecting rods tend to be on the larger side of the accepted tolerance, resulting in the balancer being very tight. Sears has a great puller for $150, but it only works with truck balancers. The short LS2/LS3 balancers don't leave much room for manoeuvre. If you are using a standard tripod puller you will need to remove the leg and install it on the balancer. After braking three of them on the last one. I ordered this puller. Goes straight, has a 3/8" square shank making it very easy to use. The stem did bend, but it still pulled the balancer off slightly and I'm sure it will work a few more times before it needs to be replaced. The only thing wrong with this setup is that it doesn't come with a case. Not sure if it works with all apps but if it works for your needs it's a great puller.
