Worked great on my 5

Worked great on my 5.3L Silverado. Worth the wait with 2 days of shipping to get the job done right, I used the 2nd longest rod and it immediately removed the damper where the other two failed (one of which actually broke). Would recommend this to anyone working on a GM LS based engine.

Buy the OEMTOOLS version at half price and includes a case

At this price it should have come in a storage case. Had I known it was just a box I would have gone for the OEMTOOLS version which comes with the case at half price. I chose this one because OTC has always had good tools. Just not happy that this one didn't live up to expectations.

Pros
  • beautiful item
Cons
  • Available in white only

Good puller best in puller

Bought this set to see how it compares to my latch set. Some reviews mention that the bars flex, which they do. My latch on shaft rods has been bent for years and still works with no issues. The same applies to the OTC kit. If you're a professional technician, buy this kit from Revain and that's because it's the same tool you get from Snap on the Truck. Just look at the snap on the part number, it's OTC6667. Bind at a price of $122.00.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Safety

Well built puller on pullers

Doesn't work on the truck and pulley I bought it for but is very well made. I leave it because with any luck I'll get rid of it and another pulley I need it for will pop out. If you are trying to remove the F150 04-05 5.4 Triton harmonic damper you will need a 3 hole puller no matter what the forums say. My '08 friends didn't have bolt holes, so I had to go with a traditional 3-jaw puller.

Quickly removed the harmonic balancer on a '99 Dodge Neon

Quickly removed the harmonic balancer on a '99 Dodge Neon. Room temperature, but even when it was hot I needed a percussion gun to move it. Lubricate threads with bearing grease to extend thread life; They wear a lot and I think I'll have to replace this after a dozen uses. To reattach the pulley, heat it with a MAP gas torch for about 5 minutes and it slides right onto the cold crankshaft.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Not sure

It would be nice to have this tool with a case, but I .

I would like to give it 5 stars but I had some problems with it. The rods that came with the puller were not strong enough to pull the harmonic damper out of the engine. I had to use a 3/8" 6" extension to get this plug out and the strings on the tool came loose even after using some dw40 to lube during the pull. It would have been nice to have this tool with a case but I think I'll have to return it, the bent rods won't help me get the dampers out in the future. Thanks for the return policy…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

A very good tool. good for jaw pullers

I specialize in Chevy LS engines. The bosses on aftermarket connecting rods tend to be on the larger side of the accepted tolerance, resulting in the balancer being very tight. Sears has a great puller for $150, but it only works with truck balancers. The short LS2/LS3 balancers don't leave much room for manoeuvre. If you are using a standard tripod puller you will need to remove the leg and install it on the balancer. After braking three of them on the last one. I ordered this puller. Goes…
