Have been using it at home for a year, the battery hasn't died yet. It also sends an email notification if your application is not logged in. It's most likely giving false humidity alerts, but the good thing is that it also detects temperature and humidity. Can be placed in drip trays (if steel, then on a paper towel) in case they clog.
