The locksmith I have chosen does not guarantee his work if I use this key. First I had to go to the local dealer and verify my ownership of the car before they gave me the code so I could make a new key. Even though this code was free, I still had to go to the dealer. I didn't have access to locksmiths in the area who were willing to carve this key even for cash. Even if I say it's up to me if it doesn't work out. They just wouldn't do it. I think if I lived somewhere else maybe other locksmiths would have done it. Forget the dealership, they don't touch it either. Since I can't return it, I might need it one day, even for an emergency key or something.
