Not easy to use good for remote controls and accessories

This remote control which I bought to replace the original remote that came with my Panasonic VHS CD player recorder seems to need some practice require. Unfortunately I don't have any instructions for it. I was happy to get it so I can turn on the player but I'm having trouble getting some features like subtitles to work.
