Review on Pelican 1020 Micro Case (Yellow/Clear) by Brad Blake

Pelican 1020 USB Hard Drive

Ideal for external USB hard drives. I send them all over the world and they protect them perfectly. retail price! On PX/BX they cost up to $34. I bought them at Revain for between $14 and $20. 1020s (size for USB hard drives, not big for USB and AC connection). I noticed that the clear lid is better. It's just as tricky as solid colors (although they don't look like they are), and it's a lot easier to make sure you don't pinch the USB cable with a cap. The external ones fit, but I couldn't justify the cost ratio for my importance of the data. When your data is critical, cost is not an option and they will protect it. I always buy 2 large hard drives and use one as a duplicate of my data. So if one fails, I immediately replace it and make a new second copy (I have 6 with 4TB of data each, but I have 12 for 1 for 1 backup). I keep the original boxes they come in (I prefer Seagate) and they ship well in it. But then again, if your data is too important to lose, pay the money, buy an appropriately sized Pelican.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • slim
