Whilst the quality of these DT Swiss parts is undeniable, unfortunately I ordered the wrong size for my bike. The typical DT Swiss RWS size for front wheels is 5mm x 100mm. If you have a larger thru-bolt hub (no springs) the standard size is usually 10mm x 100mm. They have much thicker bolts and are more common on mountain bikes. When the end cap on my bike broke and the ratchet snapped off, I was confused by the measurements as they aren't usually marked on the parts themselves. It wasn't until I received this 5mm RWS in the mail that my mistake became crystal clear. After doing a little research, I made another discovery. Custom bikes usually come with a proprietary front hub that has a top-secret squirrel-style 9mm front hub. Oh wait right, an atypical thru-bolt size used by some brands. Alright. Lesson learned. If you need a replacement - DT Swiss makes a great quick release system, just make sure you research your size and if you ride a Specialized choose 9mm not 10mm. Have fun driving.
