Review on ๐Ÿ”Ž 388-B NF Ethernet Network Tracker - Versatile Multipurpose Solution by Rene Putman

It works as described

I've had it for two weeks now. After playing around with the functions, I could understand almost everything. I used the trace function to find the cut wire and it worked fine, it really doesn't have the best guide. But what I did find when I googled the model were some YouTube videos in poor English on how to use the basic features that were helpful. I give 4 stars for the time being because everything works as described, but the detailed instructions are missing. I'll update this when things go well or badly. UPDATED 12/13/15 It's REALLY handy to have multiple numbered remotes. I have used it in a large building that was recently hooked up to new Category 6 cabling, all existing Category 5e cabling was left in place. I will be using an old 5e for analog camcorders and will use baluns for data and power. What a time saver trying to figure out what goes where with deaf remotes and without having to lug around 1,000 feet of RG59 around the building. Some cords were cut off and left in place and I've used the tone generator on several runs from 150 to 200 feet with no problems. Now it goes on with 5 stars. I know some people have had issues but my device is still working great. I hope he survives. EDIT 9/15/17 Still working fine, can't say I use it every day but at least a couple of times a week.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
