This was easy to use and did a great job in cleaning my tattoo after I got it, but it did almost nothing in helping to numb the area. It helped minimally, but not enough to notice a difference in the way I was hoping for. I was looking for something that helped calm the area and this was a really good cleanser and the foam helped it clean the area quickly and easily, but it did nothing to help the pain. I can't imagine using it before getting a tattoo would be a major improvement. If you are using it just for the cleaning qualities, it is a great product. It is small and easy to carry around. The pain relief just isn't what I had hoped.
